Fabric Flower - Tissue/chanderi Fabric

The tutorial that I am sharing today is to make a flower that works best as an embelishment on kids party dresses or even adult's! I prefer using a cloth which is more stiff and shimmery. If you want to make it from a normal cotton cloth even then it will look beautiful! The tutorial is below:

Material Required:
  • Fabric
  • Measurement tape or scale
  • Scissors
  • No stitch fabric glue
  • Some bottons/beads/rhinestones

STEP 1:
Cut two strips of the fabric that you have chosen.  Here I have cut strips of length 11 by 2 inch and 13 by 3inch. Fold the strip length-wise keeping the wrong sides together. Now leaving a margin of 5mm, do running stitch, securing the edges. I have shown it with a different color thread so that it is visible for you. else try to use a matching thread for neat results.

STEP 2:
Now gather the strip and secure at the end so that it forms a circular bow as shown in the picture below. Repeat steps 1 and 2 with the second strip as well. Now you will have two bows, one small and one bigger than the first. (Please note: you can change the size of the fabric strip as per the final size of the flower that you need. For more gathers cut a longer strip and to increase the size cut a wider strip and vice versa.)

STEP 3:
Stick the smaller bow on top of the big bow and secure. You can also stitch the same if you like. I was a bit lazy to do that and hence used the No-Stitch Glue from Fevicryl

STEP 4:
Now on top of this assembled flower add the embellishments you like to complete it. I have added a beautiful bling button sent by my mum :)

Don't forget to share the photographs or links of the crafts that you make. I would love to see your creative ideas!
Have Fun and Keep Crafting!
